1. Bennett: Israel needs to 'fundamentally change the situation' in Gaza - JNS

(February 25, 2020 / JNS) Israel is "preparing something" for the terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett.

In remarks made during an interview with i24 News that aired on Monday, Bennett said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi are preparing a "meaningful move" that will only take place "on our terms and in our time.

"I want to do it on our terms," said Bennett. "You want to be effective with a very cruel enemy such as Hamas. You don't want them to lead you into their game."

2. Islamic Jihad boasts: We turned life in Gaza envelope into 'hell'- Israel National News

Abu Hamza, a spokesman for the Islamic Jihad's "military wing", the Al-Quds Brigades, claimed on Tuesday that the organization's terrorists, along with terrorists from other Palestinian organizations, succeeded in making life in the "settlements" of the Gaza envelope a "hell" and "a place not suitable to live in."

Speaking in Khan Yunis after the group fired over 80 rockets at southern Israel, Abu Hamza said that any act of resistance is "legitimate" and it is gaining popular support and "we are proud of the sacrifice of our blood so that our (Palestinian) and our (Islamic) nation will live in dignity."

Abu Hamza also emphasized that the Al-Quds Brigades of the Islamic Jihad and other organizations based the equation of shelling in response to shelling and bloodshed in response to bloodshed, noting that the fighters of the Jihad are ready for war.

3. Netanyahu: We are 2 seats away from a strong right-wing government - Israel Hayom

Five days out from Israel's third general election under a year, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was optimistic when he addressed a conference of regional council leaders on Wednesday.

"We are only two seats away from establishing a strong, right-wing government and preventing a fourth election," Netanyahu said.

"Otherwise, we'll get a government under [Blue and White leader Benny] Gantz that is dependent on Ahmad Tibi and the Joint Arab List. A government like that would endanger Israel's security," the prime minister added.

4. Bennett: 'I'd rather fourth elections than join Gantz's cabinet' - Israel National News

Defense Minister Nadtali Bennett (Yamina) has said that he will not join a Blue and White-led coalition - even if that means Israel will hold fourth elections.

In an interview with Israel Hayom, Bennett said: "I prefer to sit in the opposition, and not join [Blue and White Chairman MK Benny] Gantz's government. I also prefer fourth elections to sitting in his cabinet."

"I am a rightist and Blue and White is a leftist party. Blue and White is like an avocado - it has a peel and a pit. The pit of Blue and White is Yesh Atid, which fought the pre-military academy in Eli, which wants to evacuate tens of thousands of settlers from their homes, which does not want Judaism, and whose leader, Yair Lapid, has said that the Disengagement is a punishment for the Religious Zionist community. These are not my views and therefore I will not sit with them. I will join only a Netanyahu government."

5. For third time in row, Netanyahu and Gantz race towards an inconclusive finish line - JNS

(February 24, 2020 / JNS) Israel has entered the home stretch of its third election within a year, and with polls showing some possible shifts in public opinion, the parties have begun their last-ditch efforts to gain votes.

Blue and White had maintained a lead of two to four seats in almost all polls during this election campaign. The party's strategy had been to make sure they win a few more seats than Likud-a result it believes will force the president to charge leader Benny Gantz with trying to form a majority coalition. But two polls have shown that Likud now has more seats than Blue and White, according to Channel 12 at 34 to 33, and according to KAN at 35-34. The Channel 12 poll also showed Netanyahu widening his lead against Gantz 43 percent to 33 percent in the question of who is most qualified to be prime minister. That reality has reignited both parties in the last week.

Likud Knesset member Yoav Kisch told JNS that "the polls are showing that our bringing out the vote effort is working. There are a few hundred thousand Likud voters who didn't vote last time. Our ministers and MKs are working with every branch in the country, and the prime minister is doing multiple events every night. We will continue this effort in order to accomplish two goals: to win more seats than Blue and White, and even more importantly, to try to get to 61 seats for the right-wing/religious bloc."

1. White House: Trump Expanding Healthcare Access for 13 Million Americans-Breitbart

The White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) estimated that 13 million Americans will have increased access to health care due to President Donald Trump's executive action, according to a report released recently.

The CEA estimated that millions of Americans will have new health insurance access that is better tailored to their healthcare needs that were previously unavailable due to high healthcare prices and overregulation. The council attributed much of the increase to the president's reforms to expand short-term limited-duration health insurance plans, association health plans (AHPs), and health reimbursement accounts (HRAs).

The Trump administration's rule allowed Americans to purchase short-term plans for up to 364 days and renew the plans for up to three years. The Barack Obama administration curbed these rules to encourage Americans to purchase Obamacare. The CEA said that short-term plans could be half as expensive as Obamacare-compliant plans.

-Thank you father God, more Americans are able to have different choices when it comes to their health care needs. We pray you continue to give this administration innovative ideas on how to give American citizens more freedom when it comes to their health. And we pray Health and wholeness over the entire nation in Jesus name amen!

-"Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well." (3 John 1-2)

2. Court sides with Trump in 'sanctuary cities' grant fight-AP News

The Trump administration can withhold millions of dollars in law enforcement grants to force states to cooperate with U.S. immigration enforcement, a federal appeals court in New York ruled Wednesday in a decision that conflicted with three other federal appeals courts.

The ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan overturned a lower court's decision ordering the administration to release funding to New York City and seven states - New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Washington, Massachusetts, Virginia and Rhode Island.

The 2nd Circuit said the plain language of relevant laws make clear that the U.S. attorney general can impose conditions on states and municipalities receiving money.

3. Trump administration launches new unit to strip US citizenship from foreign-born terrorists, criminals-Fox News

The Trump administration is establishing a new section within the Justice Department to deal with the process of removing citizenship from foreign-born individuals who fraudulently obtained citizenship by failing to disclose past convictions for serious crimes -- including terrorism and war crimes.

The section, which will be within the DOJ's Office of Immigration Litigation, will be dedicated to denaturalizing those who had failed to disclose they had been involved in criminal activity on their N-400 form for naturalization. It requires the government to show that citizenship was obtained illegally or "procured by concealment of a material fact or by willful misrepresentation."

Citizens cannot be deported, but those who have been stripped of citizenship revert back to permanent residency status, which allows deportation or barring of entry from the U.S. in the case of serious criminal offenses.

-Thank you father God, for protecting your people from evil through this administration. We ask that you continue to give this administration more ideas on how to rid our land of evil doers. In Jesus name amen.

4. Judge On Roger Stone Case Goes After Tucker Carlson, Trump Over Comments About Juror-The Daily Caller

A federal judge on Tuesday criticized Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson for calling the lead juror in Roger Stone's trial an "anti-Trump zealot," though the juror in question has referred to President Donald Trump on social media as "#KlanPresident" and asserted in a Twitter post in August 2019 that Trump's supporters are racist.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson leveled the criticism against Carlson and Trump for their recent remarks about the juror, Tomeka Hart, during a hearing on whether to grant Stone a retrial. Jackson sentenced Stone on Feb. 20 to 40 months in prison in a case stemming from the special counsel's probe.

-Father God, in the name of Jesus we ask that you would soften the heart of this judge and remove the lens of hatred for Trump from her eyes. We pray this judge would see justice clearly, and rightly discern right from wrong. Let justice be done in this Roger Stone situation. Amen.

-"And said to the judges, Take heed what you do: for you judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment." (2 Chronicles 19:6)

5. Police backtrack on Obama-era DHS whistleblower's initial 'suicide' reports-The Daily Mail

Authorities have backtracked on initial reports that a Department of Homeland Security whistleblower committed suicide after his body was found with a gunshot wound by a California highway.

The sheriff's office have since described those initial reports as 'misinformation' and said they have asked the FBI for assistance in investigating Haney's death. We are currently in the beginning phase of our investigation and any final determination as to the cause and manner of Mr Haney's death would be extremely premature and inappropriate.

'No determination will be made until all evidence is examined and analyzed.'

Philip Haney, who spoke out against his own agency during the Obama administration, was found dead in Plymouth, about 40 miles east of Sacramento, last Friday.

6. Another Republican Congressman Announces He Will Not Seek Reelection-The Daily Caller

Louisiana Republican Rep. Ralph Abraham announced Wednesday that he would not be seeking reelection for Congress, making him the latest member of the GOP to retire.

A large number of Republicans in Congress have decided they will not be seeking re-election in 2020, as the GOP is trying to take back control of the chamber. There are now currently twenty-two GOP lawmakers in the 116th Congress that announced they would not seek re-election in 2020.

7. Virginia Bill Update-The Family Foundation.

The Senate Privileges and Elections Committee yesterday afternoon effectively killed HB 177, a bill that would dilute Virginians' presidential votes by tying them to large liberal voting states such as New York and California. It voted 14-1 to carry the bill over for the year. But after the vote committee chairman Senator Creigh Deeds (D-25, Charlottesville) promised a "carry over meeting" of the committee in the fall, where bills that received such a vote may be reconsidered. If the bill reports at that time, it would go immediately to the Senate floor at the very start of the 2021 General Assembly. While unlikely to get a better vote, it merits scrutiny over the next several months.

The bill, known as the National Popular Vote Compact, was introduced by Delegate Mark Levine (D-45, Alexandria). It barely escaped the House on three different occasions, although it was a priority agenda item for the Left. However, it met its deserved fate late yesterday as several committee Democrats and all six Republicans understood that states cannot amend the U.S. Constitution without going through the amendment process, among many legal, logistical and pragmatic defects in the compact.

8. New Project Veritas Video Shows Since-Suspended ABC News Correspondent Alleging Network Has Trump Bias-The Daily Caller

A new Project Veritas video shows an ABC News correspondent bashing the network and accusing higher-ups of intentionally failing to report properly on President Donald Trump.

Wednesday's newest video shows correspondent David Wright, who has since been suspended from ABC News, talking about how "voters are poorly informed" in part because of the network's purported refusal to cover Trump appropriately. He alleges that the network carefully crafts its reporting to fit a certain narrative, particularly around Trump.

I feel terrible about it," Wright can be seen saying in the video. "I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear. And so, it's like there's no upside in - our bosses don't see any upside - in doing the job that we're supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people to account."

-Father God, just like You are clearing our government of corruption, we ask that You clean out the corruption in America's news room. Raise up Christians to start news media outlets that spread the unbiased truth about world affairs. We ask that you would inspire Christian investors to fund these new outlets and that your glory would be shown in a new kind of media! In Jesus name amen!

-"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2)

9. US markets rebound from coronavirus fears in early trading-Washington Examiner

U.S. stock markets showed modest gains early Wednesday after two days of losses caused by concerns that the coronavirus could not be contained.

Global markets are down slightly, with London's FTSE 100 Index down 0.37%, Germany's DAX 30 down 0.26%, and France's CAC 40 down 0.066% in afternoon day trading. New cases of the coronavirus have popped up in Europe, which is helping to cause a drop in those markets.

President Trump is scheduled to hold a 6 p.m. press conference on Wednesday about the coronavirus with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials at the White House.

10. Donald Trump Blames CNN and 'MSDNC' for Hyping Coronavirus Fears-Breitbart

President Donald Trump criticized cable news on Wednesday for hyping fears of the coronavirus spreading further into the United States.

"Low Ratings Fake News MSDNC (Comcast) and CNN are doing everything possible to make the Coronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible," he wrote.

Trump said he would host a press conference at 6:00 p.m. to further discuss the threat posed by the virus. "Meetings and calls scheduled today," he wrote. CDC, Secretary Azar, and all doing a great job with respect to Coronavirus! Briefing this afternoon." Members of President Donald Trump's coronavirus task force warned Tuesday that the coronavirus would likely become a global pandemic.

CBN Reports on a Secret Mission to Baptize 20 Iranians: 'God Gave Me Living Water and a New Life'

[CBN News] Iran is one of the world's most dangerous places for Christians. Yet this Muslim nation is seeing an unprecedented explosion of Christianity. Muslims fed up with Islam are becoming followers of Jesus Christ in record numbers. A group of converts secretly left Iran to be baptized.

On a recent Thursday afternoon, 20 Iranians took a flight from their country's main international airport in the capital city of Tehran and flew to an undisclosed city. The journey was filled with danger, but each one of them was willing to take the risk for the chance to experience a life-transforming moment.

For security reasons, we have concealed their identities, changed their names and their voices.

One-by-one 20 Iranians descended the steps of an indoor swimming pool.

Men. Women. Young adults. Teenagers. And a seven-year-old girl.

Some were single. Others married and joined by their spouses. Moms and dads with children also were baptized.

In the water waiting to baptize them-fellow Iranians Amir and Sasan, who escaped persecution in their homeland.

"Most of the people at this gathering are artists, musicians, some are TV producers, they are very educated people, they are specialists from different fields of Iranian society," Pastor Amir told CBN News.

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
