1. Netanyahu, Gantz make 'significant progress' in all-night coalition talks - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Resilience party chief Benny Gantz wrapped up an all-night meeting early Sunday on the terms of a unity government, which they were hoping to finalize later in the day.

A joint statement from the two said they reached "understandings and significant progress" during the talks at the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, without elaborating.

Further talks will be held later Sunday with the aim of reaching a signed deal, according to the statement. Israel Resilience MK Gabi Ashkenazi, Gantz's deputy, also took part in the overnight meeting.

2. Knesset panel okays breakup of Blue and White; Gantz keeps the name - Times of Israel

The Knesset Arrangement Committee on Sunday officially approved the breakup of the Blue and White alliance, voting to allow the Yesh Atid and Telem factions to break away from the centrist party and for various MKs from each faction to switch allegiances ahead of an imminent unity government deal that has rearranged the political arena.

On Thursday, Blue and White leader Benny Gantz was elected Knesset speaker in a shock move, setting the stage for a coalition with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and leading to the splintering of the Blue and White alliance, which had campaigned during the three elections over the past year on ousting Netanyahu due to his indictment on graft charges.

Following the move, the Yesh Atid and Telem factions, headed respectively by Yair Lapid and Moshe Ya'alon, filed a formal request to break away from Blue and White, leaving only Gantz's faction to join forces with Netanyahu's Likud-led bloc.

3. Gantz may block settlement annexation by new government - Jerusalem Post

Blue and White leader Benny Gantz opposes unilateral settlement annexation, sources close to him said on Sunday, as negotiations continued for a unity government.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to apply Israeli law to all Israeli towns in the West Bank, in the framework of US President Donald Trump's peace plan, which allows for annexation beyond just the settlements, of 30% of the West Bank. The other 70% would become a demilitarized Palestinian state.

Gantz met with Trump in Washington in January, the day before the plan was presented to the public, and said: "I will work toward implementing it from within a stable, functioning Israeli government in tandem with other countries in our region." Several days later, Blue and White, which he led at the time, said it would bring the entirety of the Trump plan to a vote in the Knesset.

4. Yamina threatens to 'topple Netanyahu' if new government is not to their liking - JNS

(March 30, 2020 / Ariel Kahana and Yehuda Shlezinger) As Israel's Likud and Blue and White parties continue their efforts to cobble together a national unity government, many in the right-wing bloc expressed concerns about the large number of portfolios Blue and White leader Benny Gantz is expected to secure for his faction.

At this stage of the negotiations, both blocs have laid claim to 15 portfolios, a serious step down from the right-wing bloc's current 28 portfolios. The potential division of ministries affects mostly Yamina, the alliance of Jewish Home, the National Union and the New Right. The faction, which currently holds three ministries- defense for Naftali Bennett, transportation for Bezalel Smotrich, and education for Rafi Peretz-criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "for not even considering Yamina for a major portfolio."

Netanyahu "sold everything that is important to the ideological right to Blue and White, and the Justice Ministry will probably go to [MK Avi] Nissenkorn, which is a disaster for the right given that he is very left-wing," one Yamina official told Israel Hayom.

5. Corona cases in Israel near 4,000, gov't prepares to tighten shutdown - Israel Hayom

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel is approaching 4,000, with a total of 3,865 tallied as of Sunday morning. A fourteenth patient succumbed to the virus on Sunday, and a total of 66 patients were in serious condition, with 54 on ventilators, and another 82 listed in moderate condition. Fourteen Israelis have died of the virus, mostly elderly patients with serious pre-existing medical conditions and 89 have made a full recovery.

However, a 22-year-old man battling coronavirus at Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod is in a medically-induced coma and attached to a respirator. The patient had no pre-existing medical conditions, is not a smoker, and reportedly has a normal body weight.

The hospital reported that the patient had been in quarantine at home and was brought to the hospital with a light case of the virus, but his condition began to deteriorate a few days ago. As of Sunday, he was being cared for in a special intensive care unit opened for coronavirus patients.

6. Israeli Army to Deploy Hundreds of Troops Sunday to Help Enforce Coronavirus Lockdown - Algemeiner

The Israel Defense Forces are set to deploy across the country in order to aid police in enforcing the current coronavirus lockdown, Israeli news website N12 reported on Sunday.

The decision to deploy was expected to be made at the weekly cabinet meeting earlier, in which further quarantine measures were also discussed. The Ministry of Internal Security and the Israel Police have already formulated the procedures for the IDF deployment.

According to the procedures, soldiers will not be stationed where there is potential for conflict with civilians, and will not impose fines or use coercive measures. They will accompany police during major operations and man checkpoints in order to facilitate police activity.

7. US Embassy warns Americans in Israel: Come home now while you can - World Israel News

The U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Sunday warned American citizens living in Israel that due to international flight cancellations U.S. citizens living in Israel might not be able to return to America anytime soon.

"As of March 29, the only available commercial flight departing Ben Gurion Airport to the United States is on United Airlines, but it is subject to change at any time," the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem said in an e-mail sent to Americans who had registered for updates.

In a statement on its website, United Airlines advised passengers the company is "reinstating several international flights over the next few days and will continue to fly six daily international flights through May," but warned "our international schedule will be reduced by about 90% in April." Tel Aviv was one of the international destinations listed.

"To the best of our knowledge, there are no flights available at this time from Ben Gurion Airport to other destinations which may provide connections to the United States," the embassy said.

8. Rocket launched from Gaza Strip lands in Sderot - JNS

(March 29, 2020 / JNS) Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at southern Israel on Friday night, according to the Israeli military. There were no reported injuries or damage.

The rocket fell in the town of Sderot, and in response Israeli tanks and aircraft attacked three Hamas sites, according to the AP. The Israel Defense Forces said the attacks targeted "infrastructure used for underground activity."

The rocket fire broke a calm on the border that has prevailed since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

1a. USNS Comfort arrives in NYC harbor to help alleviate hospitals amid coronavirus fight - Fox News

The USNS Comfort has arrived at the front lines of the coronavirus fight in the United States.

The Navy hospital ship, which contains 1,000 beds, a dozen operating rooms, a medical laboratory, a pharmacy and more, sailed into New York City harbor on Monday after departing from Virginia over the weekend.

"There she is," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said as the ship docked at Manhattan's Pier 90. "If there is ever a time that we need to work together it is today," he added. "The president is right - this is a war. And what does this nation do when it's at war? It comes together and it acts as one."

The White House said the 1,200 "doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, X-ray technicians, orderlies and other medical staff" on board the vessel "will augment and support New York City's medical community and conserve hospital capacity by treating some non-COVID-19 patients." (Read more)

- Father God, we agree! When we work together, we win! Bless all those who are working on this ship; and bring healing to all who will be admitted for care. In Your Name, amen.

- "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalm 107:20)

1b Trump Reveals New Social-Distancing Guidelines Will Be Applied on a County-by-County Basis - Western Journal

President Donald Trump outlined a plan to the nation's governors in a letter on Thursday calling for a relaxing of the administration's social-distancing guidelines in counties that are at a low risk of being affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Trump's plan calls for expanded coronavirus testing throughout the United States so that counties can categorized as high, medium or low risk. The administration is developing new guidelines it will publish based on the three different risk levels.

"With each passing day, our increasingly extensive testing capabilities are giving us a better understanding of the virus and its path," the president wrote. "As testing gives us more information about who has been infected, we are tracking the virus and isolating it to prevent further spread. This new information will drive the next phase in our war against this invisible enemy." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that this virus threat will drive all of us to our knees in prayer asking God for deliverance and protection from this invisible death threat. Change the hearts of each one to believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord and thus becomes a child of God's kingdom. Thank You, Jesus, for it is in Your Name that we pray.

-"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

2. Dow slides as $2T coronavirus aid package sails through Congress - FoxBusiness.com

U.S. equity markets fell Friday with selling accelerating during the final hours of trading as investors took money off the table after a massive three-day rally in which the Dow Jones Industrial Average exited its bear market. The Dow fell 915 points, or 4 percent, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite lost 3.37 percent and 3.79 percent, respectively. The 12.8 percent weekly advance was the Dow's best since June 1938.

Stocks ticked to session highs, but remained well below the flat line, after the House of Representatives passed the $2 trillion relief bill that extends aid to individuals, small businesses and corporations hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. President Trump signed the bill Friday late afternoon.

On Thursday, the Dow emerged from its bear market, capping off a three-day advance of 3,960.24 points, or 21.30%. It was the biggest 3-day percentage gain since 1931. (Read more)

- Father God, we lift up the equity markets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite and ask that You guide each of them for the prosperity of our nation as a whole. Keep America safeguarded as the Lord takes control of the market. And God bless President Trump as he is guided by the Lord to make wise decisions to strengthen the core of America. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"And God will give them a heart to know Him, that I AM the Lord: and they shall be my people and I will be their God: for they shall return unto Me with their whole heart." (Jeremiah 24:7)

3. BREAKING: FDA Approves Major Breakthrough In Fight Against Coronavirus- DailyWire.com

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency authorization on Friday for a new coronavirus test that can deliver results in just 5 minutes and is so small that it can be used nearly anywhere. Abbott Laboratories announced that their new test is the fastest test in the world, able to deliver "positive results in as little as five minutes and negative results in 13 minutes."

"The test will run on the company's ID NOW platform, providing rapid results in a wide range of healthcare settings such as physicians' offices, urgent care clinics and hospital emergency departments," Abbott Laboratories said in a statement. "The ID NOW platform is small, lightweight (6.6 pounds) and portable (the size of a small toaster), and uses molecular technology, which is valued by clinicians and the scientific community for its high degree of accuracy. ID NOW is already the most widely available molecular point-of-care testing platform in the U.S. today. "

"The COVID-19 pandemic will be fought on multiple fronts, and a portable molecular test that offers results in minutes adds to the broad range of diagnostic solutions needed to combat this virus," said Robert B. Ford, president and chief operating officer, Abbott. "With rapid testing on ID NOW, healthcare providers can perform molecular point-of-care testing outside the traditional four walls of a hospital in outbreak hotspots."

CNBC reported that the company plans to start providing 50,000 of the newly approved tests per day for officials to use.

Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD, praised the announcement, hailing it as a game changer in the Trump administration's fight against the coronavirus, which originated in China. "This is GAME CHANGER," Gottlieb wrote on Twitter. "Abbott to market, starting next week, a fast point-of-care #coronavirus test, delivering positive results in 5min and negative results in 13min. Will deliver 50K tests/day to start. Kudos to Abbott and FDA's Jeff Shuren and team at CDRH who are in the fight." (Read more)

- Father God, we prayed for a miracle breakthrough in the fight against Covid 19 and You Lord, have answered our prayers. Thank You for giving Abbott Laboratories the fastest test in the world. To God be all praise as You guide the testing around the world and this virus be captivated and its power brought to a distinct halt. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"Who knows not in all these that the hand of the Lord has wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind." (Job 12:9-10)

4. Gallup Poll: Majority Of Americans Disapprove Of News Media Handling Of Wuhan Coronavirus - The Federalist

"Of nine leaders and institutions rated by Americans in a new poll on their response to the novel Wuhan Coronavirus, the media fared the worst, and it's not even close," Tristan Justice reports for The Federalist.

"According to a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the media was the only institution that scored a negative approval rating among the public with only 44 percent of Americans approving of the way the media has covered the virus."

The President, Vice President, and Centers for Disease Control, by comparison, each earned at least 60 percent approval from Americans. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that the facts and truth behind the news media be exposed as completely controlled by the shadow government and is therefore incapable of honest news coverage. Strengthen the coverage of the truth which is done by the President, Vice President and Centers for Disease Control. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"The Lord is well pleased for His righteousness' sake; He will magnify the law and make it honorable." (Isaiah 42:21)

5. Trump says quarantine for N.Y., N.J. and Connecticut 'not necessary' - NBC News

President Donald Trump backed away from earlier comments Saturday that he was considering enforcing a quarantine in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area after state officials questioned whether Trump had the authority to implement a quarantine and accused him of creating confusion.

Instead, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a travel advisory asking residents to refrain from non-essential travel for 14 days, effective immediately. The advisory does not apply to people who work for "critical infrastructure industries, including but not limited to trucking, public health professionals, financial services, and food supply, the CDC said in a statement. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that these key areas of the country will see a marked difference in the separation of people from each other. Lord, move across these three states in a phenomenal way that will get their attention to call out to God and You answer their prayers. Get the attention of all people everywhere, Lord. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

6. Trump signs order authorizing Pentagon to call up former troops to help with coronavirus fight - Fox News

President Trump on Friday signed an executive order authorizing the Pentagon to bring back former troops, including members of the National Guard and Ready Reserve eserve members, to active duty as part of the ongoing response to the coronavirus crisis.

"Today the President signed an Executive Order authorizing Secretary Esper to order units and individual members in the National Guard and Reserves and certain Individual Ready Reserve members, to active duty to augment forces for the effective response to the coronavirus outbreak," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement.

The department said that, in general, the members called up will be those in headquarters units and those with high demand medical capabilities, who would not adversely affect their local communities by being called up. The order allows them to be called up for up to two years and up to a million can be called up.

"This will allow us to mobilize medical disaster emergency response personnel to help wage our battle against the virus," Trump said at a press conference Friday previewing the decision. "We have a lot of people, retirees, great military people, they're coming back in." (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that each one of the million National Guard and Ready Reserve members activated in response to the Covid 19 virus will be protected by the presence of the Lord as they fulfill this call for help. Send heavenly angels among them to fight this battle without becoming infected. We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus..

We pray for their mental stability of fighting a war of this invisible virus germ. Protect all of them by the mighty hand of Almighty God so that none become infected. We thank God for this divine protection. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

"He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the Lord, happy is he." (Proverbs 16:20)

8. Boris Johnson tests positive for coronavirus - Fox News

Boris Johnson, the British prime minister, has revealed he tested positive for coronavirus.

In a video message posted to his Twitter account Friday, he explained he had developed "mild symptoms" over the last 24 hours -- "a temperature and a persistent cough. . . On the advice of the chief medical officer I have taken a test. That has come out positive, so, I am working from home," Johnson said. "I'm self-isolating. And that's entirely the right thing to do."

"But, be in no doubt that I can continue thanks to the wizardry of modern technology to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fight back against coronavirus," he added.

The White House says President Trump spoke with Johnson today, where he "thanked the Prime Minister for his close friendship and wished him a speedy recovery." (Read more)

9. G20 leaders pledge $5tn in 'united' response to coronavirus crisis - AFP

Riyadh (AFP) - G20 nations pledged a "united front" Thursday in the fight against coronavirus, saying they were injecting $5 trillion into the global economy to counter the pandemic amid forecasts of a deep recession. US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin joined the emergency videoconference chaired by Saudi Arabia's King Salman, who called for coordinated action while facing pressure to end an oil price war between Riyadh and Moscow that has roiled energy markets.

"We are strongly committed to presenting a united front against this common threat," the leaders said in a joint statement after the summit. "We are injecting over $5 trillion into the global economy, as part of targeted fiscal policy, economic measures, and guarantee schemes to counteract the social, economic and financial impacts of the pandemic. (Read more)

The figure was a sum total of the fiscal stimulus packages adopted by individual G20 states, the Chinese foreign ministry said, adding that Beijing's share amounted to $344 billion. As concerns mount for poorer countries without access to capital markets or adequate health facilities, G20 leaders also pledged to work with bodies such as the International Monetary Fund to deploy a "robust" financial package to support developing nations. "It is our responsibility to extend a helping hand to developing countries and (the) least developed countries," King Salman said. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that Your mighty power will be over each of the 20 nations who will be receiving billions of dollars to end an oil price war between Riyadh and Moscow. God, oversee the $5 trillion injected into the global economy, the social, economic and financial impacts of the pandemic. We question $344 billion going to Beijing. God, have Your perfect will about that amount. We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus.

"By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil." (Proverbs 16:6)

10. Trump phones Netanyahu to congratulate him that he'll form, head next government - Times of Israel

US President Donald Trump called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday to congratulate him that he'll be forming Israel's next government, the Prime Minister's Office said. The call came a day after Netanyahu closed in on a unity government with rival Benny Gantz.

"The president of the United States telephoned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and congratulated him that he will form and head the next government," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. "During the conversation, which was warm and friendly, the leaders discussed the various steps needed to deal with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic," the statement said.

The White House said in a statement that Trump and Netanyahu "discussed the latest developments on the coronavirus pandemic, and the president thanked the prime minister for his strong action to stop its spread. The two leaders agreed to cooperate closely to combat the virus and minimize its global impact," The White House statement said, without mentioning the premiership. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray intently that You will keep this virus from getting into Israel. Put a wall of protection through the Blood of Jesus that will prevent anyone infected going into Israel. Guide PM Netanyahu as he forms and heads this next government. Give him great knowledge and wisdom as he is guided by God. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

"Commit your works unto the Lord, and your thoughts shall be established." (Proverbs 16:3)

A word about truth in a world of lies

The Hollywood elite and many democrats are saying that Americans are dying because President Donald Trump is lying about the COVID-19 virus. They say they want the truth about the situation. Then they go on and call the president "absurd," "insane," "murderer," and so on. CNN's Jake Tapper Wednesday told viewers that there was no telling how many lives were affected by Trump's lies. These people can only stir dissent now by calling Trump an insane, absurd liar, but only use out of context statements that hardly back up anything they say. This is the point when political intolerance and ideological bigotry prevent people from seeing the truth, or even seeing events clearly.

To those who wish to stay informed, the president and his coronavirus task force have been updating the people each day. If you have watched them, they have been very thorough updates and have patiently answered every question by a hostile media, no matter how ill-informed or emotional the reporter was in asking the question. Whether the president and his array of task force experts are all lying about this crisis can be determined by a discerning viewer. The fact that 60% of Americans, according to a Gallup Poll, approve of the way President Trump is handling the crisis, drives Hollywood and the democratic leadership crazy. Not because they believe Trump is lying, but because they hate him. They actually want Americans to suffer COVID-19 because they hate the president so much that they don't want him to succeed.

If a person is so driven by his political beliefs, or even his legalistic religious beliefs, that he will not listen to reason or even view what is in front of him as fact, that person is blinded to the truth. Repeatedly calling someone insane, a liar, or some such label while refusing to consider all the facts, and saying you only want the truth, you are not allowing truth to enter. Also to say that you want the truth, and call the truth a lie because it isn't what you believe, is refusing truth. I have seen this in watching people's comments on Facebook, for example. They demand the truth. Someone gives them documented facts that are truth. It is not the answer they want, so they call the person a liar, or some such other label.

Viewing the world from the lens of bias against truth, prevents truth. Isaiah 59:13-14 says, "In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood, and judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." If someone is a vessel of lies and rebellion against God, how can they find truth? Hating a person because he doesn't agree with you, blocks the truth. We see this when the president and his task force answer all the questions over and over again, yet the answers are not what the haters want to hear, so they call them lies. Indeed, truth is fallen in the street.

Famine in the wake of the COVID-19 pestilence

As COVID-19 cases approach 150,000 in America and over 2,000 deaths, there is an eerie feeling about the future. There is much speculation about when life will get back to normal. But there is an anticipation, a hope, and an expectation that with diligence and wisdom, life will return to at least a new normal. In America, we have so far endured this pandemic with the exception of being able to find toilet paper as a result of the hoarders, and perhaps having been rationed on certain food products. There are systems in place to prevent hoarding, price gouging, and taking advantage of people during this time of need. But what if you lived in a country where a lockdown or travel ban meant you may not be able to eat?

It's been 16 days since my son Christian and I returned from Ghana, West Africa. When we left, there were two cases of COVID-19. We got out ahead of President Trump's travel ban. Some 12 hours after we left, Ghana closed its borders and air traffic. Now, with 152 cases, the entire country is on lockdown-schools and businesses are shut down. Police are enforcing people to stay indoors. The country is doing its part to defeat this virus. But that doesn't account for the human factor, which is greed. Some landlords are threatening to throw people into the streets if an extra six months rent is not paid up front. There is hoarding and reselling. There is price gouging. Food prices have inflated 500% in some areas.

In a developing country like Ghana, there are laws against such profiteering and price gouging, but there is essentially no infrastructure to enforce them. So unlike American's hoarding of toilet paper, Ghanaians, especially in the poor rural areas we serve, face extraordinary greed against the background of needing to eat. Our ministry partner Pastor William Agbeti writes: "Unfortunately, Government and its law enforcement agencies are helpless to do anything about the price hikes, even in the presence of laws against profiteering! Since last week, we had been supplying foodstuffs, hand sanitizer and small amounts of money, out of our very meager resources to support some of the poorest of the poor." We have developed a system to get food to the poorest families in the rural areas. We have a list of families and a list of foodstuffs to buy.

We have a vehicle to distribute them. In areas we cannot reach by vehicle, we can distribute funds via a phone app to our trusted representatives who will buy and distribute food. Every $50 we send will feed a family for about two weeks-which is when the lockdown is supposed to be lifted. If there is any small amount you can spare to assist with this effort, it would be greatly appreciated. A little bit goes a long way. As is written in 1 Peter 5:2, "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind." Proverbs 22:9 says, "He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor." Famine follows pestilence. Can we do something about it?

A HOLY AIR IS BREATHING ROUND

"Let my prayer be set forth before Thee as incense." (Psalm 141:2)

Lyrics

A holy air is breathing round,
A fragrance from above;
Be every soul from sense unbound,
Be every spirit love.

O God, unite us heart to heart,
In sympathy divine,
That we be never drawn apart,
To love not Thee nor Thine.

But by the cross of Jesus taught,
And all His gracious word,
Be nearer to each other brought,
And nearer Thee, O Lord.

AccuWeather's 2020 Atlantic hurricane season forecast is out

2019's Atlantic hurricane season was a busy one and AccuWeather's forecasters are anticipating another active season for 2020.

About two months from now, the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season will officially begin, but AccuWeather meteorologists have already been hard at work examining the factors that could influence tropical activity this year. Forecasters are anticipating another busy year for the Atlantic Basin in 2020, on the heels of an active 2019 season.

Led by Dan Kottlowksi, AccuWeather's top hurricane expert, meteorologists this week released a 2020 Atlantic hurricane forecast. Kottlowksi's team is calling for 14-18 tropical storms during this upcoming season, which runs from June 1 through Nov. 30. Of those storms, seven to nine are forecast to become hurricanes, and two to four are predicted to strengthen into major hurricanes.

"It's going to be an above-normal season," Kottlowski said. "On a normal year, we have around 12 storms, six hurricanes and roughly three major hurricanes."

Washington National Cathedral Donates 5,000 Medical Masks Resurrected from Crypts

The Washington National Cathedral will donate thousands of medical masks to two hospitals in the nation's capital after discovering a trove of the much-needed protective equipment just feet from where Helen Keller and other prominent Americans lie in the cathedral's underground crypts.

Bought in 2006 as a precaution during an outbreak of the H5N1 flu, also known as bird or avian flu, the more than 5,000 N95 respiratory masks had been forgotten until early this month, when the cathedral's chief stonemason, Joseph Alonso, remembered coming across them in an unfinished area of the crypt level.

Though still in their original packaging, the masks were technically expired, and cathedral staffers first reached out to the manufacturer and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to determine whether they were safe to use.

Since the coronavirus pandemic hit the U.S. last month, mass buying of N95 masks has resulted in a critical shortage at medical centers. Doctors across the country have been reusing masks, along with medical gowns and eye shields, risking spreading the disease to multiple patients or contracting it themselves.

Given the dire situation, Kevin Eckstrom, the chief communications officer at the cathedral, said they were told the decade-old masks "were either fine or better than nothing."

On Wednesday (March 25), 3,000 masks will be donated to Georgetown University Hospital and 2,000 will go to Children's National Hospital in Washington.

When the cathedral reached administrators at the two hospitals, they asked, "How quickly can you get them to us?" according to Eckstrom.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Reading the Bible Together

WELCOME TO OUR BIBLE READATHON!

> > > Reading the Word of God over our nation, six nights per week!! ALL NIGHT LONG!

We are now reading the Word of God every night (except on Sunday mornings) from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EDT. We are reading through the whole Word, from Genesis to Revelation, and beginning again in Genesis when finished. [As of this writing, over the past three years, we have now "read through" the entire Word of God sixty-five times, nonstop. Hallelujah!]

Our numbers of readers continues to grow over time. All are welcome to join, as we use "the weapons of OUR warfare" to confront our enemy and BRING HIM DOWN through the LOVE of our Messiah and, by faith, setting captives free!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075. The access code is: 206425#.

Please call at any time from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EST!
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN OUR "WARFARE IN THE NIGHT", USING THE WEAPON OF HIS WARFARE - THE WORD OF GOD!

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

> > > A footnote: 2020 has been declared "the Year of the Bible."

Hallelujah!!

Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!

In closing, let us decree together that . . .

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

AMEN!!
