Coronavirus Update
A Petition to Support Health Care Workers
As cases of COVID-19 escalate around the country, physicians and other healthcare workers (HCWs) are facing severe shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE). This shortage is already a major crisis and will place an insurmountable strain on the health system of this country as cases continue to rise and more people require hospitalization for complications of COVID-19.
As a result of this shortage, recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for appropriate PPE for HCWs on the frontlines have shifted. This shift does not come in response to overwhelming evidence, rather to a supply chain issue.
As quoted directly from the CDC website: "PPE recommendations for the care of patients with known or suspected COVID-19: Based on local and regional situational analysis of PPE supplies, facemasks are an acceptable alternative when the supply chain of respirators cannot meet the demand."..."When the supply chain is restored, facilities with a respiratory protection program should return to use of respirators for patients with known or suspected COVID-19."(1)
These statements in no way suggest that droplet precautions are adequate, supported by the statement that as soon as the supply chain has been restored, we should go back to using N95 respirators. As a result of these recommendations, many hospitals have taken the CDC recommendations to mean that facemasks are the preferred PPE, rather than a less desired (and potentially less safe) alternative. They have thus rationed respirators to be made available only for procedures, such as intubation and bronchoscopy, during which the virus is more likely to become aerosolized. This is putting our HCWs in tremendous danger of contracting and spreading COVID-19, which is unacceptable in the country with the most expensive health care system in the world.
The evidence that droplet precautions are acceptable is lacking. CNN recently published an article titled "Health care workers getting sicker from Coronavirus than other patients".(2) This statement is corroborated by data from a Harvard Study in China that suggested HCWs were at a 20% increased risk of severe infection compared to the general public. This risk decreased once the Chinese implemented full gear: protective suit, medical goggle, face shield, N95 mask and gloves - following this change there were no further reports of infected HCWs.(3)
The debate is still ongoing as to whether or not COVID-19 can be transmitted via droplets vs. aerosols, yet as we speak, HCWs around the world continue to get infected, end up in critical condition, and die while using "appropriate PPE". According to an ahead of print New England Journal Article on aerosol and surface stability of COVID-19, the virus can be detected up to 3 hours after aerosolization.(4) According to Dr. Milton, professor of environmental health at University of Maryland, "you cannot tell epidemiologically between something aerosol transmitted by weak sources and large droplet spray", and he suspects the capability of long distance transmission will be dependent on the degree of symptoms.(5) Considering the mortality risk and lack of data to support a step-down to surgical masks, N-95 masks should continue to be the standard PPE for care of COVID-19 patients.
As a physician, I do not know how long it takes to make an N95 mask, but I do know how long it takes to train a physician, a nurse practitioner, a physician's assistant or a nurse. We are the supply chain that needs to be protected. . . .
This letter serves to urge our government, industry, media and general population, to assist HCWs in obtaining immediate access to critical PPE, including N-95 masks. Our HCWs are already on the front lines, taking care of patients without appropriate protection, and our COVID cases and we are nowhere near the peak. Many hospitals are already running out of protective supplies. (NY Times, 3/9/2020) Recommendations to protect HCWs should not be based on what's available; availability should be based on what is necessary. We urge the government to access the Strategic National Stockpile, and to utilize both the public and private sector to immediately increase production of PPE supplies. In addition, we urge our hospital systems to maintain the highest level of PPE standard for our HCWs, and demand the supply of N-95 masks.
Sincerely,
Dr. Milla J. Kviatkovsky
Dr. Constance Chace
Dr. Supraja Thota

1. Blockaded Gaza looks wryly on as world isolates itself - ynet news
"Dear world, how is the lockdown? Gaza." A sly dig at the international community, this is just one among a torrent of social media posts that has emerged from the blockaded Gaza Strip in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The sight of a world locking itself down seems to have unleashed a wellspring of emotions in Gaza, from sardonic political commentary to schadenfreude, emerging from Palestinian denizens of the tiny coastal enclave that has for years lived with enforced isolation and confinement.
"Have you got bored with your quarantine, the closure of your crossings, your airports and your trade? We in Gaza have been living this for 14 years," one social media user posted this week.
"Oh world, welcome into our permanent reality," he added.

Authorities expect 400,000 to apply for benefits this month at cost of NIS 2 billion; unemployment rate could cross 30%
Israel's Employment Service has seen a surge in unemployment applications in recent weeks as the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc on the national economy and global markets.
Since the beginning of March, when the virus's effects began to take their toll on Israel, some 180,000 Israelis filed for unemployment, 7.5 times the number that registered in the month of February.

3. Israel starts surveilling virus carriers, sends 400 who were nearby to isolation - Times of Israel
As controversial tracking starts, people who were in close contact with those confirmed to have COVID-19 are informed by text message they must home-quarantine.
The Health Ministry announced Wednesday it has begun using mass surveillance tools to retrace the movements of coronavirus carriers and has already informed 400 people in contact with them that they must enter quarantine.
The electronic tracking program, which is being conducted by the Shin Bet security service for the ministry, has faced harsh criticism, including by members of the government, and its legality is currently being challenged in the High Court of Justice.

5. Netanyahu rebukes a complacent Israeli public: This isn't vacation. Stay home! - Times of Israel
As virus cases rise to 337, PM says 'too many' failing to grasp gravity of situation; top health official warns thousands could die, with hundreds more diagnosed each day
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday reprimanded Israelis for failing to grasp the gravity of the growing coronavirus crisis, urging them to stay home wherever possible, as top health officials said thousands could die of the disease if the public did not strictly adhere to government guidelines.
"This isn't child's play, it's not summer vacation, it's a matter of life and death," Netanyahu said at an evening press conference after media outlets reported extensively over the past two days on now jobless Israelis making use of their freed up time to enjoy the beach and public parks.

1. Schumer says US 'almost certainly' will see recession over coronavirus havoc-Fox News
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned Wednesday that the U.S. will "almost certainly" see a recession due to the effects of the rapidly spreading coronavirus. "Our public health system is understaffed and under-resourced and without intervention, it could soon become overwhelmed," Schumer said.
"Even as the market shifts from day to day, coronavirus is slowing our economy to a near standstill and we're almost certainly anticipating a recession," he continued. "Go to the streets of many cities, towns and villages-they're empty. Schools are closed in large portions of the country and businesses are struggling not to lay off workers because they don't have customers, don't have clients, don't have income."

- Father God, we repent on behalf of Schumer and all other government officials declaring that there will be a recession in America, in Jesus name. We plead the blood of Jesus over those words and we cancel them and call them null and void in the name of Jesus. We know God that You are the God of restoration and that You will restore what the enemy has stolen from this land and from the entire world. We give you praise and honor for being our provider in Jesus name amen.
- "Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." (Isaiah 61:7)
2. Restaurant industry estimates $225B in losses from coronavirus-The Hill
The National Restaurant Association on Wednesday wrote to President Trump and congressional leaders estimating that the industry's sales will decline by $225 billion during the next three months, which will prompt the loss of between five and seven million jobs.
At least 28 states have closed dine-in options for restaurants so far, with more expected as the coronavirus spreads. The loss in sales equates to 25 percent of the previously estimated $899 billion the industry expected in 2020 annual sales, according to the association. The full economic impact, according to the association, will be $675 billion because every dollar spent in restaurants generates an additional $2 elsewhere in the economy. The association called for financial relief, loans and tax measures to help them combat the crisis.

- Father God, we give you praise and glory for who You are. You are the God of restoration and you will restore all of these losses over and above the gains that they originally had. 3. Trump calls himself a 'wartime president' over coronavirus as he invokes Defense Production Act-Fox News
President Trump on Wednesday announced that he is invoking the Defense Production Act as part of the administration's efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic -- and also described himself as being a "wartime president." "It can do a lot of good things if we need it," he said at a White House press conference. "We'll have it all completed, signing it in just a little while."
The act ensures the private sector can ramp-up manufacturing and distribution of emergency medical supplies and equipment. The move gives the White House the authority to increase production of masks, ventilators and respirators, as well as expand hospital capacity to combat the coronavirus. On Wednesday, Trump also announced that the Housing Department is suspending all foreclosures and evictions until the end of April. Earlier in the day he had announced that the U.S. and Canada had agreed to temporarily close their shared border to non-essential traffic.

4. Trump Closes US-Canada Border Over Coronavirus Concerns-The Daily Caller
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the U.S. would temporarily close its northern border with Canada over coronavirus fears. Trump tweeted that the move, approved by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, would be temporary and only impact "non-essential traffic."
The move comes after two Canadian provinces declared states of emergency over a growing number of coronavirus cases. Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, tested positive for coronavirus just days prior. Trudeau announced Sunday that Canada would close its borders to all non-residents, with the exception of the U.S. "We can still slow the spread of this virus," he said at the time. "It is time to take every precaution to keep people safe."

5. Mnuchin Floats Cash for Families, Airlines in $1.3 Trillion Plan-NewsMax
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's goal to pump money into the economy quickly has him adding another decimal-point to his plan nearly every time he speaks.
It started with $850 billion on Monday, and on Tuesday he confirmed reports of a "big number" -- $1 trillion. On Wednesday the figure had reached $1.3 trillion for the next round of fiscal stimulus Congress plans to take up after the Senate passes a smaller package of measures that the House already passed.
In a proposal sent to lawmakers Wednesday, Mnuchin's department laid out a plan to spend $500 billion in total on checks to individuals that would start landing in bank accounts in less than three weeks, according to a document seen by Bloomberg News.

6. 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Utah knocks out power to thousands and diverts flights-CNN
A 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Utah's Salt Lake City area Wednesday morning, cutting power to tens of thousands and suspending work at the state's public health lab amid the coronavirus pandemic, officials said.
Flights to Salt Lake International Airport were being diverted, departures were postponed, and terminals and concourses were evacuated so engineers could inspect the facilities, the airport said. The quake was centered about 10 miles west of Salt Lake City and near the city of Magna, starting at 7:09 a.m. MT, the US Geological Survey said.

7. Dr. Ben Carson Urges Americans to Lean into Faith, Prayer amid COVID-19 Outbreak-Christian Headlines
At a press briefing on Saturday, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson emphasized the importance of prayer amid the coronavirus outbreak. "I hope that we as a nation can use this as an opportunity to pull together for good," Dr. Carson said during a Coronavirus Task Force briefing on Saturday.
There's nothing wrong with godly principles, no matter what your faith is: loving your neighbor, caring about the people around you, developing your God-given talents to the utmost, so you become valuable to the people around you," he continued.
"Having values and principles that guide your life. Those are things that made America zoom to the top of the world in record time - and those are the things that will keep us there too," Dr. Carson concluded.

8. Trump DOJ: Christian Photographer Shouldn't Be Forced to Work Same-Sex Wedding-Christian Headlines
The Trump administration has sided with a Christian wedding photographer in her fight against a Louisville, Ky., ordinance that could force her to photograph same-sex weddings.
The Department of Justice filed a "Statement of Interest" in federal court Feb. 27, citing the U.S. Constitution, Supreme Court precedent and even James Madison in arguing that the government cannot compel photographer Chelsey Nelson to "photograph, provide photography editing services for, and blog about weddings of which she does not approve." "Forcing Ms. Nelson to . . . participate in a ceremony that violates her sincerely held religious beliefs invades her First Amendment rights," the DOJ brief says.

9. Rare 6th Circuit Court Hearing: All 15 Judges Attend Ohio Down Syndrome Abortion Law Arguments-CBN News
A federal court heard arguments over an Ohio law outlawing abortions on babies with Down Syndrome Wednesday. In a rare full-court hearing, all 15 judges of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals heard the case with the judges sharply questioning the attorneys on both sides about the law.
Abortionists who knowingly perform such a procedure could face a fourth-degree felony charge and lose their medical license.
Government attorneys argue the law is not unconstitutional because it doesn't seek to ban all abortion. The Ohio law prohibits physicians from performing an abortion if they're aware that a diagnosis of Down Syndrome, or the possibility, is influencing the decision. Opponents say it takes decision-making out of the hands of the woman.

10. Trump Plan Would Send Back All Who Cross Border Illegally From Mexico - Newsmax
The Trump administration is considering a plan to turn back all people who cross the border illegally from Mexico, two administration officials said Tuesday, using powers they say the president has during pandemics like the coronavirus outbreak to mount what would be one of the most aggressive attempts to curtail illegal immigration.
The plan is under consideration and no final decisions have been made, according to the officials, who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the plan hasn't been announced.
The officials said the president has authority to take such action in a pandemic and that Mexico's efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus, along with Venezuela's, have been the weakest in North and South America. The officials said its authority relies on a law that gives the president authority to deny entry to people or to reject cargo if the Surgeon General determines there is "serious danger" of bringing a communicable disease to the United States.

- Father God we thank you for this commonsense approach to turn back people who break America's laws. 11. 500 Staff at Homeland Security Are Quarantined - Newsmax
Almost 500 employees at the Department of Homeland Security are currently quarantined because of possible exposure to the coronavirus, with 13 confirmed infected or presumed positive, according to documents obtained by Politico. "The department's leadership is going to have to pay very close attention as this public health crisis evolves," John Cohen, former acting undersecretary of intelligence and analysis, told Politico. "It has to be concerned that its ability to carry out its core mission could be compromised if there's a widespread outbreak of the virus among DHS personnel.
"And quite frankly, that's something that federal, state, and local officials need to be concerned about across the board - that this virus will spread among first responders, law enforcement, and Homeland Security personnel, compromising the ability of those organizations to protect the public." 12. 350 Nigerian Christians killed in first 2 months of 2020: NGO report - Christian Headlines
A Nigerian civil society organization claims that no fewer than 350 Christians have been killed across the West African country since the start of 2020 and estimates that about 11,500 Christians have been killed since 2015.
"Nigeria has fully become a killing field of defenseless Christians," the Anambra-based nongovernmental organization International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) said this week in a new special report, titled "Nigeria: A Killing Field Of Defenseless Christians."
The organization, which is headed by Christian criminologist Emeka Umeagbalasi, has monitored violence against Christians in Nigeria since 2010 through a team of criminologists, lawyers, journalists, security, and peace and conflict studies graduates. (Read more)

We say that any harm or any evil that tries to come near them will pass over them and will not harm them in Jesus name. Send your angels to guard them, help them, and comfort them in their times of need. And let them see your Spirit move in mighty ways on their behalf! Amen!
- "I will protect those who trust in my name. 15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. 16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation." (Psalms 91:14-16)

Prophetic implication of coronavirus-Part III
It is amazing, AMAZING, how many conspiracy theories there are floating around the internet about the China coronavirus. There are theories about who started it and when; intricate explanations of why it was started; detailed accounts of what it is beyond a virus; and every day there are more and more such theories. People, do you realize what is in front of us here? Do you realize that it makes no difference whatsoever the who, what, where, when and how this happened? What matters is that it is here and we are living through it. It is both at the same time historic and prophetic. Latching onto every conspiracy theory that comes up is such a waste of time and energy when there are bigger issues.
Before you push the "unsubscribe" button because you are angry, let's look at this another way. In Matthew 24:29-30, Christ prophesies: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." IF we are here to see that, are we going to sit around reading that this event is caused by some secret US compound in Fort Detrick controlling HARP, or some such thing? Does it matter? Or are we going to pay attention to what the Lord is doing?
Is our purpose during these prophetic times to be part of the rumors, and passing deceptions along to others? I know this is not going to be popular, but there will be plenty of time to speculate on what made this happen and who is at fault. We need to focus on the work at hand. Let's take care of ourselves and each other. Be a testimony to your Lord and Savior. That doesn't mean being a part of those who are deceiving and being deceived. We are in the midst of an extraordinary event. People are seeking answers, they are afraid and uncertain. The answer that will give solace, peace and comfort is knowing Jesus Christ. Instead of being concerned about the latest conspiracy theory, let us be about our Father's work.
Matthew 25 is a continuation of Matthew 24 with specific suggestions of how to treat people and use your talents. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, giving drink to those who thirst, comforting the sick. Maybe because of quarantine, we cannot physically do these things. But the Word of God, the Christ, is food and living water. His word is clothing greater than cloth. It is comfort to the sick. Use your internet connection to encourage and equip rather than pass rumors and deception. Just saying. We have a higher calling. We should know how to behave in prophetic times. As is written in 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." LET'S GO!
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Unleashing the JAVELIN
Submitted by Pastor Carolyn Sissom
EastGate Church, Katy, Texas
Tonight at prayer I got the revelation of the "javelin" as a weapon of spiritual warfare against sexual immorality. When Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw the Simonite Prince and Midianite Princess blatantly and openly enter the tent. He rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand. He went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, So, the plague was stopped among the children of Israel; And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand. We prayed using our spiritual javelin to bring down the Prince of sexual immorality over our nation and the church. (Numbers 25: 1-18)

HE GIVETH MORE GRACE
HE GIVETH MORE GRACE
"He giveth more grace." (James 4:6)
Lyrics
He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father's full giving is only begun.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

HOW SWEET THE NAME OF JESUS SOUNDS
"Thy name is as ointment poured forth." (Song of Solomon 1:3)
Lyrics
How sweet the name of Jesus sounds In a believer's ear! It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, And drives away his fear.
It makes the wounded spirit whole, And calms the troubled breast; 'Tis manna to the hungry soul, And to the weary rest.
Dear name! the rock on which I build, My shield and hiding place, My never failing treasury filled With boundless stores of grace!
By Thee my prayers acceptance gain, Although with sin defiled; Satan accuses me in vain, And I am owned a child.
Jesus! my shepherd, husband, friend, O prophet, priest and king, My Lord, my life, my way, my end, Accept the praise I bring.
Weak is the effort of my heart, And cold my warmest thought; But when I see Thee as Thou art, I'll praise Thee as I ought.
Till then I would Thy love proclaim With every fleeting breath, And may the music of Thy name Refresh my soul in death!

5.7 earthquake in Salt Lake City; almost 50,000 without power
An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was recorded Wednesday morning on the outskirts of Salt Lake City. The quake, at 7:09 a.m. Mountain time, was centered 10 miles west of Salt Lake's downtown, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It was followed by 12 smaller quakes, ranging from 2.5 to 3.9, within 30 minutes.
More than 47,000 customers were without power after the quake, Rocky Mountain Power's website reported.
Salt Lake City International Airport, 4 miles from the epicenter, was under a ground stop, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Flights to Salt Lake that were not in the air at the time of the quake are being delayed at airports around the country.
There were no immediate reports of major damage, but the state's governor, Gary Herbert, tweeted: "Please stay away from the downtown area while crews assess damage, Unless you work in public safety, or are an essential employee, remain at home or telework."

About CHPP
About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Reading the Bible Together
WELCOME TO OUR BIBLE READATHON!
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)
> > > Reading the Word of God over our nation, six nights per week!! ALL NIGHT LONG!
We are now reading the Word of God every night (except on Sunday mornings) from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EDT. We are reading through the whole Word, from Genesis to Revelation, and beginning again in Genesis when finished. [As of this writing, over the past three years, we have now "read through" the entire Word of God sixty-five times, nonstop. Hallelujah!]
Our numbers of readers continues to grow over time. All are welcome to join, as we use "the weapons of OUR warfare" to confront our enemy and BRING HIM DOWN through the LOVE of our Messiah and, by faith, setting captives free!
Our conference number is: 712-432-0075. The access code is: 206425#.
Please call at any time from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EST! EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN OUR "WARFARE IN THE NIGHT", USING THE WEAPON OF HIS WARFARE - THE WORD OF GOD!
"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
> > > A footnote: 2020 has been declared "the Year of the Bible."
Hallelujah!!
Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!
In closing, let us decree together that . . .
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)
AMEN!!
Reminder!
