The Remnant Seed - 1 of 3

The Remnant Seed

1 of 3

It was about this time 400 hundred years ago, the Pilgrims were getting ready.  They were saying goodbye to family, getting their finances in order, and most importantly praying fervently.  I can imagine the thoughts coming to mind, “Am I hearing you correctly Father?  Are we making the right decision?  Is it worth it?”

In October of 2019 I had this deep desire to go see the fall leaves in Maine.  It just seemed as if it was the most important and loudest desire in my heart.  Andy and I went and it was AMAZING, but the last night we did something unexpected.  We didn’t really want to pay for an overpriced hotel when we would fly at 5:00am, so we just decided to stay awake.  I felt like the Lord brought Plymouth Rock to mind.  Neither of us had seen it, so we just drove on down.  And just after 10:00pm under this red harvest moon, we saw this important foundation – this rock marked 1620.  That’s crazy.  Next year (2020) would be exactly 400 years.  I knew it was significant.  We both prayed.  Since that time the Lord has been speaking to me about this 400 years.

In this time, the Lord brought Abraham to mind.  400 years your people will be enslaved (Genesis 15:13).  And it was 430 years and Moses led the entire generation of Israelites out of Egypt (Exodus 12:40). There were 400 years of silence where the Lord spoke NO NEW WORD from the passage of what we call the Old Testament to the New Testament marked by the arrival of John the Baptist.  The last word of the Old Testament said the Lord would send Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord (Malachi 4:5) and so it was with John the Baptist.

The Lord establishes His move always through Word first.  It is spoken.

It is the Remnant Seed that hear and obey.

What we call the United States of America was actually birthed through an act of obedience by 40 Separatists (Saints) on the Mayflower.  There were actually 132 on board, but the other two thirds were secular passengers and crew members.  The Mayflower Compact (Covenant) was the first form of government written to establish self-rule in the New World.  They sought a land where they could fully be themselves and worship the Lord in spirit and truth. A place absent of persecution.  This desire was a voice leading them to Him just as it led Abraham.

66 days in the hull of a ship.  It makes me think of Jesus asleep in the bow of the boat.  Both had stormy seas around them, but there was this promise – this Word of the Lord and I believe the Father’s sovereign hand upon them.

This 400 year marker is a hinge in our history.  I believe it is time to hear from Our Father, pray, and get ready.  Something ubiquitous is about to happen.

*the references come from different sources about the Pilgrims that have some discrepancies- some say they were at sea 65 days some say there were 132 aboard some say 135
