It is written:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Today's Commentary
Today we will turn our prayer focus to an event that is happening now, but that will not be covered in the news.
The time has come for all presidential appointees to turn in their resignation notices, and to vacate their offices, by 4:00 p.m. today. This directive was quietly issued by the White House late last week . . .
For those who have served President Trump so faithfully over these past four years, and whose hearts have been knit with his agenda to Make America Great Again, this must be a heart-wrenching time for each one.
Nevertheless, President Trump has pledged to oversee a "smooth transition of power" in coming days, so these moves are now necessary. We do note, however, that even so, the President has not yet officially conceded this election, so we will continue to stand with him and to pray for him to have wisdom as he contends for election integrity going forward.
Let us pray . . .
Today's Prayer
Father God, today we lift before You all those with wounded hearts who are now clearing out their offices in obedience to the orders that have been given. We ask that You meet each one in a special way in the hours that lie ahead, providing Your own comfort and support as only You know how to do. We ask that each faithful worker be encouraged and strengthened in this time of change, and be filled with renewed hope for their future.
We bless these precious servants, O Lord, and we thank You for their faithful and quiet service to our president and to our nation.
Lord God, we also turn our hearts and our prayers once again to President Donald John Trump. We thank You that You have raised up this man of courage and of valor in this difficult hour for our nation. As he continues to oversee the peaceful transition in government, as promised, we ask that Your Hand of divine guidance would rest upon President Trump, releasing the promise of Isaiah 11, verse 2.
It is written:
"The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord."
Amen.
