On the 4th of July 1876, then US President James Garfield said:
“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress.
If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt,
it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.
If it be intelligent, brave, and pure,
it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature…
If the next centennial does not find us a great nation…
it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation
do not aid in controlling the political forces.”

“We, the people” are indeed responsible for those we elect to represent us...at every level of government. To cast our VOTE in an election as critical as this one is not only our duty as citizens, but it is a “sacred trust”... to be regarded with reverence, awe and respect! This is the MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN OUR HISTORY...and it’s crucial!
On November 3rd, the entire House of Representatives will be up for re-election. Of 435 members, there are 197 Republicans, 232 Democrats, 1 Libertatian...and 5 vacant seats. To win the Majority, Republicans need to gain a minimum of 21 seats, making the balance 218 / 217.
Let us lift up these 21 incumbent Republican Representatives, who have highly competitive races. We will speak a blessing over each one, asking that God gives them VICTORY on November 3rd!
