Shalom Praying Friends,
There probably has been no other president in our nation’s history that has been prayed for as much as President Donald John Trump.
I say he was appointed to his position by God because that’s what the Word says in Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
So when christians (who say they are believers) curse President Trump (yes any negative words contrary to what God says to do), are they actually cursing the Lord? I would say yes. So be careful what you say. The power of life and death is in the tongue and it might be your death that transpires. Job’s wife told him to curse God and he would die. Job 2:9 Who are we to curse President Trump? Fear God!And yet daily I hear of some people of influence, even pastors, in the christian community, who say they are believers, curse him. Perhaps they haven’t read their bible. It’s pretty clear. I pray blindness to the Word would be healed in Jesus name.
President Trump needs more prayers. Our leaders need more prayers. It’s not enough to vote them out of office but we need to pray that as they are removed they would be saved, delivered and set free of a grand delusion that pits them against God. Our Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. State, Federal and Municipal. Our pastors, spouses, employers need prayer. Have you prayed for your pastor or do you only turn to them when you want prayer for yourself? Do you pray for your employer or only when you want a raise? Praying for a spouse is a given, don’t neglect that given! Pray for our future leaders, our own children!
We should pray for just about everyone. But right now we need especially to lift up our president that he would make just and righteous decisions in these perilous times. Pray that he would govern his demeanor like Christ, that he would not faint and grow weary as we so often do under stress, that he would persevere in the destiny that the Lord has purposed for him, for such a time as this. Pray that he will complete his destiny fulfilling everything that the Lord has led him to do. For the Kingdom of God is at hand… Are we ready? Is the United States of America ready for the next chapter of our history? Is it the final chapter of the book or close to it?
These are the instructions we have in the Word to pray for our leaders.
1 Timothy 2:1-8 The Passion Translation Bible gives us the perfect
example.
Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. 2 And pray for every political leader[a] and representative,[b] so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. 3 It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them. 4 He longs for everyone to embrace his life and return to the full knowledge of the truth. 5 For God is one, and there is one Mediator between God and the sons of men—the true man, Jesus, the Anointed One. 6 He gave himself as ransom-payment for everyone. Now is the proper time for God to give the world this witness. 7 I have been divinely called as an apostle to preach this revelation, which is the truth. God has called me to be a trustworthy teacher to the nations. 8 Therefore, I encourage the men to pray on every occasion[c] with hands lifted to God in worship with clean hearts, free from frustration or strife.[d]
So keeping all this in mind I am bringing forth this prayer I wrote that developed from a teaching by Arthur Burk on praying for our leaders. It is based on the Word of God and it’s a “can’t fail” prayer.
Prayer for Leaders
I suggest to pray this prayer for those in leadership: pastors, spouses, government leaders, employers, children and so forth. As an act of intercession, I recommend you start day 1 on Sunday and pray each day. Meditate on that prayer for the day. Pray as often as possible in your heavenly prayer language. 7 days a week for 7 weeks and longer. Each day builds on the previous day. I believe the consistent prayer of intercession will begin to manifest transformation in the person as you pray according to God’s Word. He will watch over His Word and perform it.
