Political issues are faith issues

Your vote is your “amen” and agreement in the earth. With that said, it is remarkable how many Christians fail to discern political and cultural issues from a Biblical perspective. They fumble around politically because many can’t get past someone's personality.

God says, “Do not judge by appearances.” As believers we need to go deeper than following the herd and voting for the same political party as our family and friends. Alternatively, we can’t be controlled by the shifting news cycles. We must learn to guard against the increasing power of manipulation in social media, print and broadcasts. Remember, on the day Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate, the devil had a louder group screaming.

The reality is, political issues are spiritual issues.

When evaluating how to vote you need to turn the rock over and see what’s crawling around underneath. Start with biblical principles and sanctified common sense. Never give your support to anyone based on looks, ethnicity, personality, or party.

God’s Word is our foundation and it speaks to every political and policy issue we face. We must take it and then line it up against political the policies, then platform and finally the politician.

Principles -> Platform -> Policies -> Politician (In that order)

As I write this, the November election is only days away, and its outcome will define America for the next 50 years and beyond. We stand at a critical crossroads as worldviews collide and compete for the soul of our nation.

We must do all we can to support candidates on every level who will govern according to Biblical principles. One way we do that is by praying for, “all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (Timothy 2:2)

On Saturday October 31st from 6pm to 9pm and Sunday November 1st from 10am to 6pm we will be gathering on the National Mall in D.C. for a prayer rally. We are coming together three days before the election to pray as “As One!” for the safety, success, and soul of America.

Will you join us? This is a free event that we are putting on. I believe we need as much concentrated prayer from Washington D.C., political ground zero, to ask the Lord for His mercy and guidance in the coming days and months. You can get all the details and register at AsOneRally2020.com.

For those of you that can’t get there in person - there is no need to register - we will be livestreaming the event on Facebook and on the AsOneRally2020.com website.

I am so grateful for you. Thank you for your passion to lift our country up to God. Deuteronomy 31:6 reminds us , “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

As One!
