There have been many initiatives in many democratically controlled cities
throughout our nation to DEFUND the police. This is part of the strategy of
Antifa and BLM to demoralize our police forces. Many have been killed,
wounded, maimed and blinded. Many have quit or retired. We need to pray for
our police forces in some of our major cities where the "Defund the Police"
initiative has gained traction including:
*The Seattle police force. Carmen Best, The chief of police, a black female
, resigned this August after the Seattle city council voted to defund the
Seattle police

*The NYC police force ~ The NYC police force was defunded on June 30

their budget. Since then, violent crime, looting and murders has
skyrocketed. On the weekend of Aug 22/23, 30 people were shot. Fifth avenue
is like a ghost town with abandoned and boarded up store fronts.

*The Chicago police force. There is currently a mass exodus of residents
fleeing from the city of Chicago amid the looting, rioting, murders on the
streets and the ineptitude of Mayor Lightfoot. Let us pray for the Chicago
police force! Resident Neil Spun, who has lived in Chicago for more than 30
years, said: "There have been riots before, and looting. It just seems to me
now that the city isn't doing anything about it. I don't see this getting
any better, and so I'd like to leave."
Last weekend, a staggering 50 people were shot, 2 of them police in another
blood soaked Chicago weekend.

"Father God, today we lift up before Your Throne of Grace those who serve in
the D.C. Metropolitan Police Force. Lord God, we recognize the tremendously
difficult job they have been given these past few months, attempting to
maintain and/or to restore order on the streets of our city.
First, Lord, we do ask that Your Hand of protection would rest strongly upon
those who wear these uniforms, now and always. We ask, too, that Your grace
would be sufficient for all of their needs.
We ask an unusual, God-given ability for each one to know, when confronted
by evil, how and when to respond, amen. If there be any on the force who
make an error in judgment, we ask that he or she be identified quickly so
that justice can be served.
We thank You for Police Chief Peter Newsham, and we ask that You grant him
unusual wisdom in leading this force, and in the face of an expected
reduction in budget in coming days.
And finally, Father God, we thank You for President Trump who stands firmly
behind these "men in blue." The President has pledged to do all he can to
support the work they are doing, so that Washington, D.C. remains the
national treasure it has always been, and so that those who live here, work
here, or visit here, can remain safely protected.
We ask all of this in Your Mighty Name, amen and amen."
*The Portland police force ~ On June 17, 2020 the Portland City Council
voted to defund

budget. On Aug 30, a Trump supporter was shot dead in the back

The downtown Portland area has descended into chaos
