Today's Prayer Focus:

The Supreme Court

A Scripture to Decree:
"Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?" (Psalm 58:1)

Preparing our Hearts to Pray for:

The Supreme Court

John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States of America said, "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." Source: October 12, 1816. The Correspondence and Public Papers of John Jay, Henry P. Johnston, ed., (New York: Burt Franklin, 1970), Vol. IV, p. 393.

"On February 29, 1892, The Supreme Court declared in Holy Trinity v. United States that the historical record of America overwhelmingly demonstrated that the United States" . . . is" a Christian nation."(1)

The Supreme Court of the United States, in 1947, in Emerson v. Board of Education for the first time in the history of that body, did not refer to the Constitution as its foundation for interpreting the law, and ruled that there was a "separation of church and state." Instead, they drew their opinion from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association.(2)

In 1962, in Emgel v. Vitale, SOCTUS declared it unconstitutional for children in school to recite the following prayer: " Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country. Amen" (3)

In 1963 in Abington School District v. Schempp, the Court decided that school-sponsored Bible reading in public schools in the USA was unconstitutional.(4)

In 1973 abortion was made legal in the United States in the SCOTUS ruling of Roe v. Wade. (5)

In 2015, in Obergefell v. Hodges, SCOTUS ruled that same sex "marriage" was legal.(6)

In June 2020 the ruling that doctors in Louisiana did not have to have hospital admitting privileges at hospitals within 30 miles was decided by the Supreme Court in June Medical Services v. Russo; and that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 applies to LGBTQ employees in Bostock v. Clayton County. (7)

Praying for the Supreme Court

Father in Heaven, You are the one who defines what justice and righteousness are. Our source of defining and applying justice and righteousness can only come from Your ways and Your Word and Your Holy Spirit.

Father, we have strayed far from the mark! With broken spirits and contrite hearts we come to You in repentance and ask forgiveness for a nation that seems to have lost its way in interpreting the Constitution, which contains basic Judaeo-Christian principles. We ask Father, that you would bring us back to justice and righteousness as foundations of our ruling bodies and individual lives. Justice and righteousness as defined by You!

Father we bring before You the members of the current SCOTUS, Chief Justice John Roberts, Associate Justices Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader-Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Samuel Alito, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and ask for forgiveness where they have ruled in opposition to Your laws. We ask for salvation for their souls and deliverance from the influence of the evil one for each of them. We ask that you would give them the courage to walk in uprightness and integrity, and in all their rulings that they would judge righteously. Father, if there are any on our SCOTUS who will not judge by Your principles reflected in our Constitution, we pray for replacements with those who will.

We appeal to You, O God in Heaven, that You would annul and overturn the false, unrighteous judgments that have come forth from the SCOTUS and replace them with righteous judgments that line up with our early SCOTUS rulings of America as a Christian nation. We pray this in Jesus's name, for Your glory. Amen.

JUDGES, WHO RULE THE WORLD BY LAWS

Isaac Watts,1719

Also called: "Warnings to Magistrates"

(These days, it is impossible to find this ancient hymn available on YouTube, so instead, we offer its words below. The author, Isaac Watts, "pulls no punches" of the evil he is wresting against, and Who his victor is!

As we fight the same evil in our day, let us continue to lift up the Justices of the Supreme Court, that they would do the same. Amen.

Judges, who rule the world by laws,
Will ye despise the righteous cause,
When th'injured poor before you stands?
Dare ye condemn the righteous poor,
And let rich sinners 'scape secure,
When gold and greatness bribe your hands?

Have ye forgot, or never knew,
That God will judge the judges, too?
High in the heav'ns His justice reigns;
Yet you invade the rights of God,
And send your bold decrees abroad,
To bind the conscience in your chains.

A poisoned arrow is your tongue,
The arrow sharp, the poison strong,
And death attends where'er it wounds:
You hear no counsels, cries, or tears;
So the deaf adder stops her ears
Against the power of charming sounds.

Break out their teeth, eternal God,
Those teeth of lions dyed in blood;
And crush the serpents in the dust;
As empty chaff, when whirlwinds rise
Before the sweeping tempests flies,
So let their hopes and names be lost.

Th'Almighty thunders from the sky,
Their grandeur melts, their titles die,
As hills of snow dissolve and run.
Or snails that perish in their slime,
Or births that come before their time,
Vain births, that never see the sun.

Thus shall the vengeance of the Lord
Safety and joy to saints afford;
And all that hear shall join and say,
"Sure there's a God that rules on high,
A God that hears His children cry,
And will their sufferings well repay."

What is "The Siege?"
Radical activist group plans to "lay siege to" and "occupy" White House in September

The radical activist group that takes credit for the #OccupyWallStreet movement in 2011 has announced plans to occupy the White House next month. Adbusters, a digital publication that describes itself as "a global network" determined to "advance the new social activist movement of the information age," issued a post dubbed "#WhiteHouseSiege - Tactical Briefing #1."

"It's been nine years since we set off the political earthquake of #OccupyWallStreet, laying siege to NYC's Zuccotti Park and inspiring thousands of similar protests around the world," the post reads. "The Occupy anniversary arrives September 17th, 2020. And it may be the perfect day to trigger another global big-bang moment - a massive collective action of the sweetest kind of disobedience."

"It's time again for dramatic, decisive action. Which is why, on September 17th, in the original and enduring spirit of Occupy, we and tens of thousands of our fellow citizens will stream into Lafayette Square, in Washington. D.C," the post continued. "We will lay siege to the White House. And we will sustain it for exactly 50 days. This is the #WhiteHouseSiege."

Our Response

Our Response:

Our strategy

In confronting this enemy, we will follow Christ's example. Accordingly, every day for the next 40 days, we will join forces with prayer points, Scriptures, and worship to confront the enemy at the gates and to render him null and void.

We will begin now, and end on Sunday, September 20, just after the siege of the enemy has begun. BUT. by the grace of GOD, the enemy will instead find a big surprise at that gate: the LOVE OF JESUS, with His Hands extended towards each one, waiting to welcome them home.

By marshallng our forces in advance, just as was done this month in Austin, Texas, the plans of the enemy will be routed and OUR GOD WILL REIGN on the streets of Washington, D.C.!

Please note . . .

When lifting up prayer about these "enemy troops," our intercession is in fact aimed towards the forces in the heavenlies that are holding them captive!

It is written:

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." (Ephesians 6:13)

Let us now stand together, dressed in the full armor of God in this evil day, at the gate of the highest authority in this land, praying for our nation, our President, and our upcoming elections.

In His Amazing Grace, we invite all of you to join us as we LAY SIEGE TO THE SIEGE IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
