Preparing our Hearts to Enter Into Prayer for this March
Until very recently, most people had not heard about this March on Washington, nor about its meaning. In fact, this march will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 67 years after he gave his famous speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, declaring that "I Have A Dream."
Similar marches are also being organized tomorrow in several cities across the nation. Sharpton's civil rights group, the National Action Network, is working with its local chapters to hold commemorations in Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas, where outdoor jumbo screens will display a live simulcast of the rally in Washington. All of those states are currently on Washington's hot spot list.
The commemoration will begin with a rally at the Lincoln Memorial. Martin Luther King III, a son of the late civil rights icon, attorney Benjamin Crump and the families of George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, are expected to participate in Washington.
Following the commemorative rally, participants in Washington will march to the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial in West Potomac Park, next to the National Mall, and then disperse.
While we do honor the life and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. . . . given the current political climate in the nation, news of this march gives us cause for concern.
For one thing, this march has been organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton, a leader well known for his rabble- rousing ability. With at least 100,000 expected to attend this event tomorrow, great prayer needs to be lifted up to quell the potential violence, bringing peace to the city.
Also, The Movement for Black Lives, a coalition of more than 150 Black-led organizations that make up the broader Black Lives Matter movement, will hold its virtual Black National Convention later in the evening. Organizers said their convention will coincide with the unveiling of a new political agenda intended to build on the success of this summer's BLM-themed protests, which called for the defunding of police departments in favor of investments to healthcare, education, housing and other social services in Black communities.
It is time to pray . . .
Today's Prayer:
"Father God, we thank You that we can know ahead that is now being planned to take place here in Washington, D.C. tomorrow. We ask that You enter into this situation, and quell the violence that may erupt. We see, too, that similar marches will be planned at the same time in other cities across the nation, so we extend this prayer over those cities, too.
We BIND the spirit of anarchy off of this event, and we LOOSE peace, in Your name . . . We ask you to FORGIVE those who will use this anniversary as a reason to stir up the flames of racism and hatred that Dr. King sought to quench. We pray for Your GRACE and your SHALOM to instead fill the streets of Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 28. In Your Name we offer this prayer, amen."

What is "The Siege?"
Radical activist group plans to "lay siege to" and "occupy" White House in September
The radical activist group that takes credit for the #OccupyWallStreet movement in 2011 has announced plans to occupy the White House next month. Adbusters, a digital publication that describes itself as "a global network" determined to "advance the new social activist movement of the information age," issued a post dubbed "#WhiteHouseSiege - Tactical Briefing #1."
"It's been nine years since we set off the political earthquake of #OccupyWallStreet, laying siege to NYC's Zuccotti Park and inspiring thousands of similar protests around the world," the post reads. "The Occupy anniversary arrives September 17th, 2020. And it may be the perfect day to trigger another global big-bang moment - a massive collective action of the sweetest kind of disobedience."
"It's time again for dramatic, decisive action. Which is why, on September 17th, in the original and enduring spirit of Occupy, we and tens of thousands of our fellow citizens will stream into Lafayette Square, in Washington. D.C," the post continued. "We will lay siege to the White House. And we will sustain it for exactly 50 days. This is the #WhiteHouseSiege."
Our Response:
Our strategy
In confronting this enemy, we will follow Christ's example. Accordingly, every day for the next 40 days, we will join forces with prayer points, Scriptures, and worship to confront the enemy at the gates and to render him null and void.
We will begin now, and end on Sunday, September 20, just after the siege of the enemy has begun. BUT. by the grace of GOD, the enemy will instead find a big surprise at that gate: the LOVE OF JESUS, with His Hands extended towards each one, waiting to welcome them home.
By marshallng our forces in advance, just as was done this month in Austin, Texas, the plans of the enemy will be routed and OUR GOD WILL REIGN on the streets of Washington, D.C.!
Please note . . .
When lifting up prayer about these "enemy troops," our intercession is in fact aimed towards the forces in the heavenlies that are holding them captive!
It is written:
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." (Ephesians 6:13)
Let us now stand together, dressed in the full armor of God in this evil day, at the gate of the highest authority in this land, praying for our nation, our President, and our upcoming elections.
