Today, the Supreme Court reversed the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and struck down the Louisiana hospital admitting privileges law for abortionists. It also ruled that the state of Louisiana had waived its argument that abortionists should not have third-party standing, which means that argument could be decided another day. I am heartbroken at the loss, but not hopeless. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted." Psalms 34:18
We know that at least one of our three briefs was deeply read by the Supreme Court and impacted them. The four dissenting justices, Justices Alito, Gorsuch, Thomas and Kavanaugh, all cited the Operation Outcry Brief of 2,624 Women Injured By Abortion with the following quote:
"Amici who have had abortions recount similarly distant relationships with their abortion doctors."FN 14. See Brief for 2,624 Women Injured by Abortion et al.as Amici Curiae 14-22 (first-hand accounts of abortion procedures in Louisiana); Brief for Priests for Life, et al. As Amici Curiae 7-8, and App (accounts from Louisiana and other States)."
Here are two press releases we put out today: SCOTUS Endangers Women and Reaction of The Moral Outcry, Operation Outcry, The Justice Foundation, and Mary Browning to Supreme Court Louisiana Case - A Loving Warning of Coming Destruction.
The Moral Outcry Brief had 264,500 signers on it, the next time it will have perhaps over 350,000. We will continue to make the argument that Roe v. Wade should be reversed. Justice Roberts stated that Louisiana had not asked for it to be reversed. That means we need a stronger state with a law that directly bans abortion. We are working with states right now on that topic.
You can be heartbroken with me, but do not lose hope. The "covenant with death will be annulled and the agreement with the grave will not stand." See Isaiah 28:14-22. Pray for repentance at the Court or removal of the wicked, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
