FBI Warns About COVID-19 Malicious Websites

The nation and world is in the midst of a pandemic, the likes of which none of us have witnessed in our lifetime. We want to remind you to follow established CDC/WHO guidance concerning hygiene, social distancing, tele-work and other safety measures to keep your family and loved ones safe.

Additionally, be aware of a malicious website pretending to host a map of Coronavirus cases around the world (corona-virus-map[dot]com) that actually contains the AZORult Trojan that will steal information, including sensitive data. Furthermore, there is a malicious android app that pretends to be a “Coronavirus Tracking App” which is actually ransomware that will infect the phone and lock it until payment is received. The malicious app is downloaded at (coronavirusapp[.]site). Please avoid these and other schemes, conducted by persons who are exploiting this trying time period for nefarious purposes. Utilizing legitimate sources like the CDC would ensure you receive legitimate up to date information.

We value our partnership with you, and look forward to reconnecting with you once this crisis subsides.

Best,

Alfred
