The truth about trafficking and trauma

IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT TRAFFICKING, TRAUMA, AND RESILIENCE. PLEASE JOIN US.

Are you working with survivors experiencing trauma, and curious about how their physical bodies register trauma and how it impacts their decision-making and actions? Have you noticed that your body registers the trauma of your clients and that working in the anti-sex trafficking movement has impacted the way you feel in the world? Would you like to better understand and mitigate vicarious trauma? If yes, join national resilience coach and burnout prevention expert Laura Mahr, the founder of Conscious Legal Minds, for "The Neurobiology of Trafficking and Resilience: What the anti-sex trafficking movement needs to know," an eye-opening yet relaxing resilience skills-building workshop.

During our hour together, Laura will discuss the four responses our nervous systems have to cues of danger, and teach us five quick and effective ways to regulate and calm a dysregulate nervous system. Through the lens of neurobiology and polyvegal theory, Laura will help us to understand how to cultivate resilience by “neuro-hacking” our nervous system throughout the day through what she calls “mini-moments of well-being.” We will then discuss how to use the tools we learn, and talk about ways we can teach the tools to our co-workers and clients, so that we, those we work with, and those we serve can think more clearly and feel better, even during challenging times.

Please join World Without Exploitation on Thursday, July 30 from 12 - 1 pm eastern, for a presentation that will help us better understand trauma and resiliency while building our resilience skills.
